Quick Answers
Flooring Questions We Hear Most
Straight answers before you ever pick up the phone.
See all flooring FAQs →Who actually does the work?▸
Flooring Force is a division of Kenney Construction — the same licensed, insured, and bonded company (VA DPOR #2705187519) handles the work, not a subcontracted third party.
Can my hardwood floors be refinished instead of replaced?▸
Often, yes. If the boards themselves are in good shape, sanding and refinishing gets a new look for less than full replacement. We evaluate the condition of your floors before recommending either.
What's the difference between engineered wood and solid hardwood flooring?▸
Solid hardwood is a single piece of wood through its full thickness and can be sanded and refinished multiple times over its life. Engineered wood has a real wood veneer over a plywood base — more stable in humidity but with fewer refinishing cycles.
Does my subfloor need to be repaired before new flooring goes in?▸
It depends on its condition — an uneven or damaged subfloor needs leveling or repair first, or the new flooring won't sit right. We check the subfloor as part of the project before installation.
